CAM Project of the Year Award!

The Construction Association of Michigan has named Detroit Catholic Central High School’s George & Mary Turek Hall of Science the 2025 CAM Project of the Year, recognizing it as the top design and construction achievement in the state. Announced during CAM’s 140th Annual Meeting, the award highlights projects that demonstrate innovation, collaboration, and long-term value for Michigan communities.

The Turek Hall of Science is a transformative 57,000 SF STEM education facility created to position Detroit Catholic Central as a national leader in science, technology, engineering, and math – while remaining rooted in faith, service, and community.

Built to serve both students and the wider community, the facility includes immersive learning environments such as dual flight simulators, Robotics and Esports arenas, a CNC and a laser-equipped Machine Shop. Suspended above the Robotics Arena is a retired U.S. Navy Blue Angels A4 Skyhawk jet, transforming the space into a living museum of aerospace engineering.

Vig Construction extends its gratitude to the full project team whose expertise brought this landmark facility to life. Integrated Design Solutions as architect and engineer, Jonna Construction as owner’s representative, and partners including Zeimet Wozniak & Associates, Grissim Metz Andriese Associates, and many others. We are proud to celebrate this recognition alongside Detroit Catholic Central and the Michigan construction community.
