 JUSTIN BARRINGER EARNS LEED ACCREDITATION FROM THE U.S. GREEN BUILDING COUNCIL TAYLOR, Mich., February 25, 2009 — Justin Barringer, project engineer with Southeast Michigan-based J.S. Vig Construction Company, has earned LEED accreditation from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). J.S. Vig CEO Joseph Vig, LEED AP, made the announcement. The USGBC is a nonprofit organization established in 1993 to promote sustainable building and construction through educational resources and committee forums. In 2000, the USGBC developed the LEED accreditation system as an independent benchmark for rating high-performance green buildings. The organization also offers professional LEED accreditation to individuals who demonstrate expertise in green building practices and principles. Barringer currently assists all J.S. Vig project managers in organizing, controlling, monitoring and recording all construction activities. He is 2002 graduate of Western Michigan University’s Lee Honors College. Founded in 1965, Southeast Michigan-based J.S. Vig Construction Company is a full-service general contractor and construction management company. Having served over 150 distinct clients, including many Fortune 500 companies, J.S. Vig Construction has successfully completed over 1,500 medical, industrial, municipal, office and commercial projects throughout the United States.
